Hi, my name is Jimmy Kulas. I am 18 years young, currently living in Jackson Michigan, and I will be attending Michigan State University in the fall. I plan to go into Civil Engineering as well as become an officer in the Army through ROTC. Throughout high school, I have seen people I love struggle with depression, suicidal thought, or just some days being completely out of it due to stress or anxiety. I have always believed mental health is important and has been looked over by many. This topic needs to be looked at more as more of a crisis. During this period of quarantine, I have realized how hard it has been to be alone. As an only child, spending almost every day inside with limited human interaction has been rough. Even though I love my parents, cabin fever has been kicking in. The pandemic, plaguing the country, has been especially hard on me and all of my friends. This was my senior year and a lot of plans have been delayed or straight up cancelled. Going to bed each night has been hard and this has kept me thinking constantly on how I can better myself and help others. what better way to spend summer? HELPING OTHERS! So I have a massive goal for the summer to run/bike 2500 miles over the course of 100 days. That is about a marathon every single day!!!!!!!!!!!! I have goal for 1$ for every mile with an end goal of 2500$. I would love for any amount of donation possible. My overall goal is to raise as much money as possible and spread awareness for mental health.
