Long story short, I'm going to do the notorious benchmark workout, Murph, TWICE in the same day to raise money for Pre-emptive Love Coalition.
What or who is a Murph?
So every year on Memorial Day in the USA the Crossfit community across the world does the same horrific, arduous workout which has the nickname "Murph":
1 mile run
1 mile run
*ALL WHILE WEARING 20lbs of "body armour"*
If that sounds awful...that's because it is! Every year I finish it in a sad little puddle of sweat and despair.
But I started thinking about it and realised there are a lot of things that are harder than doing Murph.
It's way harder to live on the frontlines of conflict in the midst of an earth-shaking pandemic.
That's why I want to do Murph not once but TWICE this memorial day to raise money for Pre-emptive Love Coalition, whose beautiful mission is to "unmake violence" - providing relief, jobs and community for those who are affected by the brutal realities of conflict, such as refugees and asylum seekers.
Maybe as a suggestion, you could donate a small amount per rep - one cent per rep works out at $12.04(over a thousand reps...is this a good idea, Chris?).
Wish me luck - I'll need it!
