As many of you know, I have been volunteering for Interfaith Social Services for 5 years. The agency truly is an exceptional organization--not only does its mission align with my priorities (addressing hunger, homelessness, mental health counseling), but the agencies programs rely on volunteers. Last year, individuals and community partners volunteered 19,000 hours of their time to deliver compassionate, client-centered programs focused on hunger, mental health and emergency assistance. I feel lucky that the organization provides opportunities for short-term volunteer opportunities for my kids to volunteer as well (distributing Halloween costumes and sorting food).
This year I am honored to Co-Chair of the Feed the Hungry Gala. I'd love to see you at the Gala. But if you cannot make it and are looking for an agency to support this Thanksgiving, we'd very much appreciate your donation to Interfaith Social Services. At a recent meeting, the ED of Interfaith said that while the economy is growing, this growth isn't reaching the individuals who rely on the Interfaith's services and the agency has seen an increase in requests for Thanksgiving meals.
