The OT Hike and Float Challenge is not just a great time, it’s the largest fundraiser supporting the Ozark Trail Association (OTA), a 501c3 organization that maintains, develops, preserves, promotes, and protects the rugged natural beauty of the Ozark Trail, Missouri’s 400+ mile National Recreation Trail.
This year we are mixing it up a bit, making it a hike on the Upper Current River section of the OT, ending in a float on the Current River back to the starting point. This event will take place the weekend of September 10-12, 2021 with the hike-and-float day being Saturday, September 11, 2021. We’ll be based out of Round Spring Campground.
Each participant is challenged to not only complete the hike-and-float, but, more importantly, to raise a minimum of $1,250 in support of the OTA through tax deductible donations by friends, family, co-workers, etc. Corporate sponsorships and new memberships recruited by participants also go toward the fundraising goal. There are many other ways to raise funds with creative fundraising ideas….it’s really easier than it sounds! Ideas can be obtained from the Event Director.
The best way to begin is to set up your fund raising page now and share the link with everyone you know so they may make a tax deductible contribution to the OTA in support of you participating in this event. Get someone to donate in 2020 and 2021 and they can snag two deductions!
Hikers will be treated to a festive weekend with free camping, free food, fellowship, campfire, music and all sorts of OTA/ Hike and Float Challenge swag.
