Thank you for visiting my fundraising page!
I am fortunate to have been selected to be a member of the Doug Flutie, Jr. Foundation for Autism Boston Marathon Team. On April 20th, 2020, I will be running the 124th Boston Marathon to raise awareness of autism spectrum disorder and funds for the Doug Flutie, Jr. Foundation for Autism.
Seven years ago, on our anniversary, my wife Lisa and I celebrated the birth of our youngest child, Addy. At the age of two, she was diagnosed with autism. Over the past five years we have learned so much about not only autism spectrum disorder, but about the support system that these children require.
Autism can be so very different for each person affected. The degree to which Addy is affected by autism is fairly profound. Alongside many amazing teachers and therapists, Addy has made incredible progress. Her language skills have progressed to the point where simple requests are commonplace. She loves Dora The Explorer, ice cream and swimming. There is no pretense in her, and a hug or a kiss from Addy is about as pure as it gets.
Her siblings are her biggest fans, and because of Addy, they have a front row seat in learning about patience, compassion, and advocacy.
She works so hard on a daily basis, and witnessing her growth is nothing short of amazing.
I have run two marathons in her honor to raise funds for autism research: The Chicago Marathon and The Marine Corps Marathon. In both of these endeavors, my team was able to meet our fundraising goals with the help of our generous friends, family, colleagues and contributors.
This year is a big race, and a big fundraising goal...$10,000. Thank you for visiting my page. Our family truly appreciates your contribution.
With gratitude, Josh, Lisa, Carson, Ryan, Jackson, Austin, Zoey and Addy!
