A grueling, 26.2 mile march in the high desert to support wounded warfighters.
Please support wounded warfighters participating in the 2020 Bataan Memorial Death March on Sunday, March! Disabled Sports USA will support a team of wounded warfighters at the Bataan Memorial Death March as part of its Warfighter Sports military program.
For ten years, Disabled Sports USA has brought recently injured warfighters to this event in honor of the heroic service members who faced the harrowing forced march in the Philippines during WWII in 1942. The injured warfighters will join over 5,000 people, including hundreds of active duty military and veterans, to test their endurance and strength while raising awareness of the abilities of our nation’s wounded warfighters.
The majority of the warfighters participating will be from Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and San Antonio Military Medical Center. They have suffered severe injuries including arm and leg amputations, traumatic brain injuries and other severe injuries as a result of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. For most warfighters, this march is a part of their rehabilitation and they have trained for weeks to prepare.
Support the efforts of these brave men and women at the Bataan Memorial Death March by donating to Disabled Sports USA and helping rebuild the lives of the thousands of severely wounded warfighters who need help.
Since 2003, more than 15,000 of the most severely wounded and their families have been served through Warfighter Sports. All sports programs are provided at no cost to the warrior and his or her family member, including individualized instruction by trained adaptive sports instructors, adaptive sports equipment, accessible facilities, lodging, transportation and event fees.
Cheer on their commitment by joining the challenge and pledging your support TODAY!
