In sailing, a lot of the foucs is on the athletes competing, but there are so many more people behind the scenes who contribute to creating a championship effort. For Paris and Anna, they are the sailors on the water racing, but they need a team behind them helping to achieve the goal of bringing home the Gold for the United States in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. They want you to be a part of that team.
Anna has represented the USA in both the 2008 and 2012 Olympic Games, bringing home the Gold in 2008 and Paris finished 10th at the 2016 Olympic Games.
Many people are not aware that in the United States, the athletes must fund their own training and competition on the long, challenging path to the Olympics. As you can imagine, it is an expensive endeavor, which requires a whole community of supporters to help organize and fundraise so that Paris and Anna can focus on getting the job done on the water.
Paris and Anna are currently competing in their first of two Olympic Trial events, and are looking to raise funds to compete in the second Trial event, the 2020 World Championships in Geelong, Australia in February. The funds will cover their entry fee, housing, flights and coaching.
