2020 Winnipeg VIRTUAL Walk~Run~Roll

Join us for TEAMmito Winnipeg’s 2nd annual Walk~Run~Roll in support of MitoCanada!

TEAMmito Winnipeg will be hosting a VIRTUAL 5km Walk~Run~Roll for MITO the week of September 13 to 19 (World MITO awareness week!). This year’s event is being held VIRTUALLY due to current restrictions on gatherings. Participate from the comfort of your own neighbourhood! Last year, we had 100 participants come together to cover 500kms and raised over $7,000. Our goal for this year is to beat participation by getting people moving for MITO across Canada (and around the world) and raising $1 for every km walked~run~rolled!

1. Join in! Register to participate for FREE by clicking “REGISTER” and then invite your friends and family to do so as well.

2. Support the cause! Please consider supporting us by making a donation during the registration process.

3. Get moving! During the week of September 13 to 19, lace up your shoes, put on your green shirts, and Walk~Run~Roll for Aiden. Challenge your family to a 5K run on the weekend. Or get out and get moving a little each day. How you do it is up to you.

4. Be seen! Snap a picture of you completing the challenge and post it to your social media. Help us spread awareness by tagging us @team_mitocanada @TeamMitoCanada #wpgmitowalk2020

Aiden was diagnosed with a severe form of mitochondrial disease call Leigh Syndrome at the age of 15 months. Because of his condition, Aiden’s mitochondria don’t produce the energy that his body needs to function properly. Although he lives with daily challenges that most of us take for granted (like the ability to walk or run!), Aiden loves life to the fullest and is the happiest little man you will ever meet. Join us the week of September 13 to 19, move your body and work those mitochondria for those that can’t.

Why Donate?

Every donation makes an impact – your donated dollars help raise  valuable mitochondrial disease awareness, knowledge and support to  patients and their families and funding for transformational research  initiatives. The donations you make today will bring us one step closer to a cure tomorrow. Please click on MITOCANADA to learn more.
