Lewa has pioneered community led conservation. They have helped recover Kenya's black rhino population from the brink of extinction and protect over 10% of the endangered Grevy's Zebra population. They are instrumental in educating local children, assist in providing water for drinking and irrigation and support agriculture, healthcare and infrastructure.

These are difficult times and money is tight. However, if you are able, please consider supporting this cause. The economic mainstay of the region is tourism. Without international funds; programmes, habitat and wildlife are at risk. Rangers put their lives on the line to protect these endangered animals. With reduced or no pay, they risk the added danger of increased poaching pressure.
