I am thrilled once again to vie for the Prom King title, which I was fortunate to have won at Throwback Prom 2018!
I founded Throwback Prom in 2015 with the idea of bringing a diverse community together around one life-changing cause in a unique fashion. It is hard to believe that this event has grown and become an event that people look forward to every single year.
My commitment to the American Red Cross started 22 years ago, as I was recovering from injuries I sustained in an automobile accident. In that accident, I received the lifesaving gift of blood that ultimately kept me alive. I competed twice in the American Red Cross Dancing With Our Stars event in 2016 and 2018, and also served on the Northeast Wisconsin Board of Directors for two years.
When I am not planning a large event like this, I work in corporate training and organizational development for Capital Credit Union, and I moonlight as a DJ with Elite Music Service. When I am afforded the time, I love to participate in community theatre, cook (and eat), play trivia, and travel.
I have been so blessed to see a vision of mine become a reality and help so many people in our community. While my time is coming to an end as the event director of Throwback Prom, I couldn’t have pictured a better way to close this event out. My hope is that YOU and your generosity gives me the opportunity to close this event out as the 2020 (and final) Throwback Prom King!
Dan is a member of Prom Court for the 2020 Throwback Prom, a fundraising event to benefit the American Red Cross of Northeast Wisconsin. This ‘turn back the clock’ style event is aimed to give adults the opportunity to experience Prom night all over again. Complete with a DJ dance, Prom Court competition, corny Prom photos and Prom attire from yesteryear, Throwback Prom has provided a night of reminiscing on Prom memories of the past while providing lifesaving funds for the American Red Cross in Northeast Wisconsin.
