Just under one year ago, my wife Lizzie began her journey to run the Boston Marathon in 2019. Little did I know, I was beginning my journey to run the Boston Marathon in 2020.
Starting on April 17, 2019, I told myself that if Lizzie could run a marathon, I could show up for a few workouts every week. I began pushing myself with the help of wonderful people and groups such as November Project and Unnamed Run Crew, and after running my first half marathon in Las Vegas, I am now training for my first marathon...the Boston Marathon (the greatest/worst six hours in sports).
To realize my goal of finishing the Boston Marathon, I need your help! I am fundraising for Boston vs. Bullies, a program that I have been working with for over two years through their Young Leaders Council, volunteer work, and working at the organization. Boston vs. Bullies is an program I am extremly passionate about, and I will be proud to wear their logo across my chest when I turn right on Hereford and left on Boylston.
Boston vs. Bullies is an educational program that is provided to schools and organizations across Massachusetts free of charge. The video-based program features current athletes from all of Boston’s sports teams and provides kids with practical guidance, strategies and options grounded in the latest anti-bullying research. Since the full roll out began in Fall 2013, Boston vs. Bullies has impacted more than 100,000 students (grades 5-6), 1,100 teachers and 350 schools and organizations.
Thank you for supporting The Sports Museum 2020 Boston Marathon Team and carrying me across the finish line!
Let’s win this one together!
