As you know, I've recently started running, and for the Disney Princess 10K and Half Marathon (AKA the Fairy Tale Challenge) I decided that I should probably try to run for someone or something other than myself, so I went through the list of charities that Disney partners with and came across the Teaching, Learning, Collaborative Charity group. Their message and mission was very important and special to me, as a woman with a Bachelor's in science. I remember being a young girl, and thinking that I was bad at math and science, when I probably wasn't, I just didn't have the support that I needed. The Teaching Learning Collaborative gives girls the chance to feel great about learning, not ashamed or confused.
Additionally, my birthday *IS* coming up (November 13), and if you were thinking about getting me a gift at all, I would really rather the money go towards this! It would mean a lot, plus you get to see me suffer and try to run two races in two days! Its a win-win!
Below is the message from the charity group themselves!
Ahoy, matey! Our Pi-rate Princess Crew has assembled to support #GirlsinSTEM.
