I have the incredible opportunity to run the 2020 Boston Marathon on the Mass General Emergency Response Marathon Team which was created in recognition of the lifesaving response of hospital employees following the 2013 Boston Marathon® bombings. Many of my coworkers played an integral role during the 2013 Boston Marathon bombings, and I have heard stories about the outstanding teamwork and efforts during that day. I am so lucky to be part of this ED team now. I want to help raise money for emergecy preparedness and disaster response. A disaster is called a disaster for a reason, nothing is ever planned. I work with colleages who are ready to jump into action at any time.
I run for those who can’t. I run because I am able and healthy to do so. There are so many people who can’t feel the burning in their legs or the fast beating of their heart after a solid long run. I run to set goals and put in the work and effort to achieve them. This will be my first ever marathon, so let the training begin!
Hope to see you on race day!!
