Sadly, our 2020 Japan Research Residency has been cancelled due to the risks of the coronavirus.
Thanks to everyone who contributed. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like your gift refunded. If not, we will use it to defray some of the non-refundable costs of the trip to reduce the financial impact of the cancellation on families.
Arigato Goziamashita (Thank You)!
For the past 20 years, middle school students in the PPS Japanese immersion program has been visiting Japan to build international relationships by using the skills we have learned since kindergarten. This year, 78 students are going to Japan to continue this tradition, and once again, we need your support.
Parents, relatives, and friends, we are counting on you to help us reach our $7,500 goal. Some students may not be able to afford going on the trip, and we want everyone to be able to go. So our class is helping raise money for all students to help defer the cost of the Japan Research Residency trip. Our goal is to raise $100 per student. Your gift helps us achieve this, and it’s tax deductible!
It’s an incredible experience to go to Japan to use our speaking, reading, writing and listening skills daily. We’ll be immersed into the culture, which is essential in truly learning the language. This may be the only time some of these students will be able to go on a trip like this, so we want to ensure that they will have the best time they possibly can.
It’s not only a cultural trip, it’s an academic trip. During our time in Japan, we will be conducting and finishing our research projects. We will be interviewing many people in Japan, and comparing their responses with those of Americans. We will also be attending middle school in Japan and learning about the differences between our middle school, and their middle school.
We appreciate any and all support, and we will gladly accept any donations to make this once in a lifetime trip a reality.
