May 1st, 2020 the Honor Hike Foundation will be setting out on their 146 mile hike in honor of the 146 fallen Law Enforcement Officers from 2019. The primary mission is to honor the fallen and to create awareness of the dangers Law Enforcement Officers face while carrying out their duties. The Appalachian Trail was chosen solely because it is grueling, isolated, and treacherous, therefore becoming a metaphor for the sacrifice that Law Enforcement Officers around this Nation face.
For the duration of the hike, the hikers will carry a Thin Blue Line American Flag and 146 Honor Tags that bear the names of the Fallen Officers. When they reach 146 miles, a final marker will be placed to indicate the starting point of the 2021 Honor Hike. At the end of the 2020 Honor Hike, the 146 Honor Tags will be mailed to their respective agencies with a certificate and a letter from the 2020 hikers.
The Honor Hike Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non profit organization. We are committed to building awareness and honoring the fallen men and women of Law Enforcement. Your donation will help the Honor Hike Foundation forward their mission of building awareness and supporting the families who were left behind through our Co-Pay Assistance Program.
