I have always been awed by the determination and bravery of athletes who push themselves to run what many would consider absurd and unhealthy distances. Well here I am jumping on the bandwagon to put my mind and body to the test, running a marathon. I started training in March of this year, determined to run despite any obstacle, including a pandemic. All organized races have been cancelled so I decided to make my own “Corona Course”, starting from the Lion Lighthouse in Long Beach to the historic Huntington Beach pier on August 15th. As this is a pandemic marathon, I’d like to take this opportunity to help others in need. I am running to raise money for Direct Relief: a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization, dedicated to improving the health and lives of people affected by poverty or emergency situations. The charity focuses on providing PPE and other medical essentials to front line responders including health workers and ICU employees. Please help me with a donation to support those who are putting themselves at risk every day. Every dollar pledged goes directly to Direct Relief, a charity eligible for California Resources Corporation (CRC’s) matching program, so every dollar you donate can be matched! Thank you all for your support!
