A letter from Coach Varpness our Head Coach:
I hope this finds you and yours doing well and in good health during this historic time! I’m writing with a friendly request for help during these uncertain times. Our program had to cancel several fundraising opportunities this spring that pay for key operating expenses such as: funding to pay for scholarships for those who are unable to play, halftime snacks and post-game meals, team bonding/enrichment activities, digital video technology fees, equipment updates/improvements, stipends for assistant coaches and so much more.
On top of this, the athletic department has cut $15,000 from our operating budget for 2020 and beyond. The pandemic, along with recent budget cuts, has made it impossible for us to ensure we will have the funding available to provide these key factors that contribute to a quality overall experience as well as enable us to assist financially all student athletes who want to join our team.
I ask you to think back on your memories and experiences as a student athlete or member of an extra-curricular activity or club and think about all the wonderful memories you were able to have because of those unnamed heroes that financially contributed to help improve your experiences. In times like this, there are many people who are struggling and unable to help, and we understand that. So right now we are reaching out to everyone we can in order to find those who are blessed to be able to help. If you can, please consider donating to our program. Our incredible, bright, optimistic young student athletes have been under incredible stress due to this once in a lifetime pandemic and we just want to be able to help bring them back to some sort of normalcy in the fall and be able to provide a quality experience to help get things back on track for them.
Please choose a tax deductible contribution amount below or contact me directly if you have a different amount (or food) you would like to help with.
As always, if any of our families need help in any way at this time please let me know as we have a lot of caring/loving families that may be able to help in some capacity.
As a community we can grow, learn and help each other through the collective efforts of our fan base, alumni and families!
