Supporting STEM Education One Mile at a Time

This school year marks the 24th anniversary of Traveling Programs at the Museum of Science.

Starting in 1994 with a single inflatable Starlab planetarium and three part-time employees, today we are the largest museum outreach provider in New England with 27 different programs and ten full-time staff. We now reach over 100,000 people each year with our affordable science enrichment programs on a wide variety of topics such as chemistry, physics, weather, animal biology, astronomy, and engineering. That original Starlab dome is long retired, but we still travel far - teaching programs as far west as Schenectady, NY, as far south as Greenwich, CT, and as far north as Presque Isle, ME (a staggering 800 mile round trip!).

In 2010, the Boston Athletic Association awarded community partner bibs to the Museum of Science for the Boston Marathon®. All funds raised by the runners would support the Traveling Programs.
