Please join us (Katja & Lorie) on this exciting journey training and fundraising for the 2020 Boston Marathon. We are raising funds for Morgan Memorial Goodwill Industries, a charity close to our hearts, and here's why:
Goodwill’s Running for Great Kids marathon team raises funds for the Peter Morrissey Youth Fund, named in memory of a longtime board member and advocate for Goodwill who helped shape the organization’s marathon program and was passionate about supporting young people. Goodwill’s history in the community includes a long tradition of formative programs for youth. Today, the organization offers many opportunities for high school students in Boston, with the goal of helping young people to bridge successfully into adulthood and enter the workforce. Programs are tailored to young people in underserved communities who most need the support, including young adults with disabilities. Since the inception of Goodwill’s marathon team, nearly 300 amazing runners have raised more than $1 million for these programs. Your support of the team will help youth of all abilities during an important time as they transition to independent lives as adults.
As long-time members of Goodwill's Young Professional Committee, we are committed to helping promote Goodwill's mission and raising funds to support the programs Goodwill offers our communities. It is our privilege to be selected for the 2020 Boston Marathon team to benefit Goodwill's 'Running for Great Kids' campaign. While no stranger to marathons, this will be Katja's first time running the Boston Marathon! Lorie was a member of Goodwill's 'Running for Great Kids' 2019 Boston Marathon team. Thank you so much for your moral and financial support! It means a lot to us, Goodwill, and those that benefit from Goodwill's services.
