On Sunday, October 13, 2019, Team Chicago Lights will be participating in the 42nd running of the Bank of America Chicago Marathon!
The team is made up of a diverse group of fitness enthusiasts that have committed to supporting Chicago Lights' five outreach programs by training as a team, building community, and raising awareness and funds for the organization.
What's Chicago Lights?!
Chicago Lights provides hope and opportunity to Chicago's children, youth, and adults who face the challenges of poverty. Through supportive relationships and diverse programs, we empower people to thrive academically, secure economic stability, lead healthy lives, and build community.
Donations in support of the team directly benefit the five community outreach programs of Chicago Lights (Tutoring, Urban Farm, Summer Day, Dance Academy, and Elam Davies Social Service Center).
Here's a few examples of how your donation impacts Chicago Lights:
$25 Donation - Will provide three bags of high quality protein for patrons of the Social Service Center’s Consumer Choice food pantry.
$50 Donation - Will feed two Tutoring students dinner for an entire school year.
$100 Donation - Will provide a uniform and educational materials for one Youth Program participant at the Urban Farm.
$250 Donation - Will provide an outdoor recreation class for twenty students in the Summer Day program.
$500 Donation - Will provide a month of intensive dance instruction during the summer for one Dance Academy student who will increase confidence and strength while learning dance technique in contemporary dance, ballroom, ballet, and more.
