I am getting ever closer to the crazy goal I have to run twenty-five consecutive Boston Marathons and I am ever grateful for your involvement with my marathon experience.
The running part is not why I do the Marathon. Yes, the feelings of accomplishment upon getting a marathon medal is nice and it's nice to know that at my advancing age (and weight!) I can still slog through 26.2 and live to tell about it.
The real enjoyment I get from the Boston Marathon ritual, however, is the shared experience - with so many donors, with so many friends... and my GFC Marathon teammates. The satisfaction I get from helping first-time marathoners successfully get from Hopkinton to Boston... and toward their own personal fundraising goal is the real reward that I cherish - much more than the finsher's medal.
Amazing to think that Golf Fights Cancer has raised nearly $8 Million since our inception!! Thank you for believing in our efforts and contributing to the ongoing impact that GFC is making. I am proud of our little group and grateful for your support.
Thank you, Thank you!
