After going thruough cancer treatment in early 2014 I was sick and weak, barely able to walk across the room. In the fall of 2014 I was given, FREE TO ME, a Triumph Fitness class to re-gain my strength. It included 12 weeks, twice a week, at a local gym with fitness instructers knowledgeabe in the limits of cancer survivors. And in 2016 was able to hike with this amazing group to the top of a mountain.
TRIUMPH GAVE ME MY LIFE BACK!
I am hiking again this year with TRIUMPH, raising money to put another cancer survivor through the TRIUMPH FITNESS class, which is FREE to the survivor!
Each summer, Triumph Cancer Foundation assembles a team of Triumph graduates, cancer survivors and supporters to participate in "Triumph to the Summit". Throughout the summer, our team trains each weekend, with the ultimate goal being to climb to the summit of Mt. Tallac in September.
On September 7th, our 2019 team will tackle Mt. Tallac, one of the highest peaks in the Tahoe Basin, topping out at 9,735'! Through the weeks leading up to this epic hike, our team forms bonds and grows strong together. We share information about Triumph Fitness with hikers we meet along the trail to raise awareness about this vital program available to adult cancer survivors in the Sacramento Metro region. As a team, we raise money to give other cancer survivors the opportunity to participate in Triumph Fitness to help them with their recovery process.
Our message to others is always that surviving cancer is a triumph that should be celebrated and that you can go onto to accomplish amazing goals in your life after cancer treatment! #TogetherWeTriumph #TriumphtotheSummit
