The Tour de Scottsdale is an annual competitive 30-mile & 70-mile race that benefits the McDowell Sonoran Conservancy. Proceeds from this event supports the Conservancy’s mission to preserve and advance natural open spaces through science, education and stewardship.

With your support, the Conservancy can continue to support the programs that matter to our community and to our unique Sonoran Desert.

Interpretive Education

13,000 Youth served through school visits, events and activities

4,000 Adults served through hikes, lectures, events and continuing education

Science-Based Conservation

18 ongoing local, regional and international research projects

Over 100 citizen scientists contribute 9,000 hours per year to field research on the McDowell Sonoran Preserve

992 species identified on Preserve land including 415 plants, 175 birds, 335 invertebrates, 30 mammals, 4 amphibians, and 32 reptiles

Leading-edge Stewardship

Over 60,000 hours of service provided annually by more than 600 volunteers

Over 220 miles of hiking, biking and equestrian trails are patrolled and maintained

Over 75,000 Patrol miles maintaining more than 220 miles of trails
