A few months ago, I committed to running the New York Marathon with some of my sole sisters and once again raise money and run for a reason. This will be the second time for me to raise money for OAR (Organization for Autism Research).
A few years ago, when we run or train for a run we made a concerted effort to focus our minds on things above instead of simply the training for the race itself and run it for a purpose greater than self-achievement and use the opportunity as a platform to raise awareness and financial support for a cause that is close to our hearts: Autism and other neurological disorders.
Our Austin is High Functioning and has been diagnosed with severe ADHD and anxiety which is a daily battle for us as parents as well as his teachers.
There are many others out there that live daily on the Autism Spectrum that need our support both spiritually and financially and that the right diagnosis, prognosis and possibly even a cure someday is possible for many.
The physical pain associated with an endurance race is comparatively unspeakable when compared to the emotional pain and strain that is endured seeing your own son, and others like him, struggle, due to no fault of their own. It is for this reason that we have spiritually committed to using our training time to be that of a time of prayer for not only this cause, but serving and loving others in general, and it is our prayer that you will help us by not only lifting Austin and others in similar circumstances up in prayer, but consider contributing a tax deductible financial donation to the OAR Run For A Reason (Organization for Autism Research).
I have a goal to raise $3,500 by the end of October 2019.
It is my sincerest heartfelt prayer that those of you receiving this request receive it in the manner intended as a way to raise awareness for a just cause and nonprofit foundation and not for selfish personal sympathy or attention. Please know this is an earnest plea for prayers and your tax deductible financial donations with all the proceeds going to OAR Run For A Reason.
Thank you in advance for your support.
