Those of you who know me know a few things:
1. I don't like to run
2. I love to bike
3. I am passionate about our adaptive sports program
4. YES - IAM RUNNING the Falmouth Road Race!!!
I will do anything that benefits the program that I have had the privilege to work and volunter with over the past 10+ years. Adaptive sports change the lives of participants, their families, and the volunteers and staff who are lucky enough to be part of such an amazing program.
One of my favorite things to do is to figure out, create, adapt, equipment to allow a participant to be as independent as possible. I can make things, fix things, sew, fabricate........then I get to ride, paddle, skate, etc to see it all in action. There are nights I don't sleep while my crazy brain is trying to figure out a new adaptation for an individual.........then BAM it comes to me!
This year the Spaulding Race for Rehab Team Proceeds will benefit: Spaulding Cape Cod’s McGraw Center for Adaptive Sports, which includes all Cape-based adaptive sports activities and the McGraw Center at Nickerson State Park.
SCC is again proud and excited to be the sponsor of the New Balance Falmouth Road Race Wheelchair Division.
One of the premier running events of the summer season, the 7-mile Falmouth Road Race winds through tree-lined streets and follows sandy beaches past iconic Nobska Light and Falmouth Harbor, finishing in scenic Falmouth Heights. The race attracts Olympians, Paralympians, elite and recreational racers, all cheered on by 75,000 enthusiastic spectators.
