My name is Samanta, but everyone calls me Sam! I'm 26 years old and I'm from a small city in the state of Sao Paulo, Brazil. I came to America for the first time in January 2019, to be an Au Pair through the Cultural Care program. I currently live in Boston with the Cadigan family and take care of wonderful twin boys.
My host mom Lindsay works as an event planner for Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital and talks about the amazing work that Spaulding does for their patients. They help people learn how to walk again, talk again, and get their lives back together again - after horrible injury or illness. It's a really special place.
I couldn't be more excited and honored for the opportunity to be running my first race in America, the Falmouth Road Race on the Spaulding Race for Rehab team.
I have been training all summer to prepare for this race and am trying to raise as much money as I can so I can give my best towards this cause that means so much to me and my host family.
I'll be thinking of all my supporters and the Spaulding patients every step of the way!
SCC is again proud and excited to be the sponsor of the New Balance Falmouth Road Race Wheelchair Division.
One of the premier running events of the summer season, the 7-mile Falmouth Road Race winds through tree-lined streets and follows sandy beaches past iconic Nobska Light and Falmouth Harbor, finishing in scenic Falmouth Heights. The race attracts Olympians, Paralympians, elite and recreational racers, all cheered on by 75,000 enthusiastic spectators.
Proceeds to benefit: Spaulding Cape Cod’s McGraw Center for Adaptive Sports, which includes all Cape-based adaptive sports activities and the McGraw Center at Nickerson State Park.
