This year I am running the 2019 Boston Marathon in Memory of those that have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.
As a wife of a Veteran, I have seen him mourn his fallen Marines, not only from war, but after they come home. I truly believe the men and women who serve this country and sacrifice themselves for others are true Heroes, as are their families. It is not only the fallen soldiers who make a sacrifice, but their families as well. It is our honor to support and memorialize those who have made the ultimate sacrifice.
I also believe that it is important to help those veterans who come home and have to transition to civilian life. I've seen many of my Marine family struggle with the transition from being on active duty, to coming home and thinking they don't have a place in this world.
Being married to a Veteran means I am part of the military family. My Marine family means the world to me. They are there for every birth, wedding, funeral, important life event my husband and I go through. I would like to get the chance to give back what they have given to me, especially to those family members who have survived being without them.
