September is Hunger Action Month! Food insecurity is a reality for many people throughout southwestern Pennsylvania. In Oakland, both our community neighbors and students on campus sometimes struggle with finding access to nutritious food resources. Join the University of Pittsburgh in reducing food insecurity in our community by making a financial or service donation during the month of September.
In partnership with the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank, Pitt’s Office of Community and Governmental Relations, Staff Council and Pitt Police are soliciting donations in direct support of two Oakland food pantries: The Pitt Pantry and The Oakland Community Human Services Food Pantry.
Donate on this page and at the following in-person events throughout September. No food stuffs, cash, or checks will be accepted during this drive.
A contribution of $10 dollar can provide 50 meals!
