On May 24, 2019, the Judith P. Hoyer Montessori PTSA will hold its Seventh Annual Fun Run fundraiser. The runners are the students of Judith P. Hoyer Montessori who are cheered on by friends, family, and community members. It is a day of celebration for the school and we want the entire Hoyer family to be a part of it! Judith P. Hoyer Montessori is a Prince George’s County Public School serving pre-K through 8th grade. It is one of three public Montessori schools in the county and currently serves over 375 students. The students are chosen by lottery from the towns surrounding the school including, but not limited to, Cheverly, Landover, and Bowie, MD. The school is effective, partially because of the investment that the school community makes in educational programming. Last year’s Hoyer Fun Run was a huge success, raising over $23,000 to support and enrich the curriculum. The students were so proud of their efforts to help their school. Of the funds raised, over $6,700 was allocated for specialized Montessori classroom materials essential to our curriculum; $1,800 toward staff development and appreciation; and $4,175 for field trips, $1,000 for athletics, and $2,800 for our week-long annual arts residency. As our school community continues to grow, including the expansion of our middle school program, so do our efforts increase to provide much needed financial support. We have an ambitious goal of raising $25,000 for this year’s Fun Run. These funds will support the items listed above as well as expanded initiatives including, but not limited to:
- Improving school technology
- Upgrading our recess/playtime assets (including refurbishing and/or purchasing new equipment);
- Supporting our annual arts residency
- and more.
Please help us reach our fundraising goal!
