Dear Family, Friends, and treasured Alumni,
I hope that this letter finds you in good health and that this year is your best one yet. Thank you so much for the support you have shown for our house. Whether you have donated before or provided encouragement and prayer to our members and leadership, we truly appreciate you.
College is not a walk in the park. On the contrary, college is a challenge: a very daunting challenge. For the first time in your life, you had the freedom to make your own choices whether they be good or bad. Thankfully, I go to a school with a House-system so I have a community of like-minded men around me facing the same types of choices. It is this bond which has helped me, and countless other friends, become a man who fears God and strives for excellence.
To strengthen our community and elect our future leaders, we are committed to sponsoring a retreat away from the hustle and bustle of New York City. Over the last two years, I have seen the importance of this retreat. Our men meet over meals, bond through activities, and have intentional conversations about the character and values we are striving after in our community. Would you help us ensure that every student in Churchill can participate in this important tradition again? In order to provide this experience for a third straight year, we need your help ensuring everyone can come on a full scholarship.
To cover the cost of our transportation and meals, the House of Sir Winston Churchill and I have committed to fundraising $2,000. Your donation of any amount helps us achieve this goal!
-$50 can cover the cost of transporting a Churchill to and from Oley, PA.
-$500 can cover half of the cost of the food we will provide.Your donation towards this event helps the executive team prepare a weekend that strengthens the bonds of brotherhood. Together, we are developing strong men dedicated to courage, servanthood, and excellence.
Best wishes,
Zachary Wagner
President of the House of Sir Winston Churchill
PS: Please donate by February 17, 2019 so that we can plan the best retreat possible! Checks can be made out to The King’s College.
