Dear Family, Friends, and treasured Alumnae,
I hope that this letter finds you in good health. Thank you so much for the support you have shown for our house. Whether you have donated before or provided encouragement and prayer to our members and leadership, we truly appreciate you.
I am writing to you from college. Remember it? It was magical. For the first time, you had all the freedom in the world paired with an array of new challenges. Balancing school work with a part-time job and getting enough sleep? That’s a challenge. Leaving the library to catch a glimpse of the sun? Another challenge. Making new friends? That’s hard in a new place! Luckily for me, and for those of you who went to King’s, the House System provided us with the community and support we needed amidst this magical, challenging time.
To build and strengthen our community, we are committed to sponsoring a retreat outside of the city. Over the last few years, we have seen the importance of this retreat. Our girls meet over meals, bond over activities, and have intentional conversations about the character and values we are striving after in our community.
Would you help us ensure that every student in Barton can participate in this important tradition? In order to make sure that no girl stays back for financial reasons, we want to be able to send each and every Barton on retreat for free. To cover the cost of these scholarships, transportation, meals, and facility rental, the House of Clara Barton and I have committed to fundraising $3,000.
Your donation of any amount makes a difference!
$25 can cover the cost of snacks for our ride up to the retreat location.
$75 can cover the cost of housing for one girl
$150 can pay for one of the two dinners we will provide on retreat
$500 can cover half of the cost of our transportation.
Your donation towards this event helps our executive team prepare a weekend that strengthens the bonds of sisterhood. Together, we are developing strong women of courage and discernment, who are committed to following Christ’s lead together with dignity and grace.
