Each night, like many of you, I sleep in a warm house and a soft bed. Food at my house is in plentiful supply. Such is not the case for the nearly 80,000 homeless men, women and children in Los Angeles. Nothing breaks my heart more than the plight of homeless women and children, many of which are housed at our Genesis House, our transitional housing for youth or all those in our cold weather shelter. Stories of abuse and despair affect me on every level. Like you, I know we need to do more. To answer this call, we formed #TeamHope. A group of everyday men and women who will run, walk or crawl the LA Marathon on Sunday, March 18th. It is for homeless men, women, and children that we will run. We want our efforts to produce a HOME RUN....a Home for the Homeless. The finish line of our race is 26.2 miles and $20,000 away. At this time, without hesitation or reservation, we are asking for your help.
