Hi friends! I'm participating in the 2019 Boston Dragon Boat Festival to support Asian and immigrant youth, representing BCNC Bamboo Circle.
We're raising money to provide youths ages 13-18 with year-round youth development, college access, and leadership programs to develop the 21st century skills they need to thrive in college and the workforce.
Being born and raised in Chicago's Chinatown, this hits home for me because I understand how difficult it is for underrepresented youths who lacked resources to reach their goals. If not for the many resources that Chinatown, non-profit organizations, and mentors have provided for me, I wouldn't have had the opportunity to give back today. As a result, I would really appreciate all of your help.
For every person who donates, I'll write your name on my arm during the day of the race! Every dollar counts and is much appreciated.
The BCNC Bamboo Circle is the young professionals group of Boston Chinatown Neighborhood Center (BCNC). BCNC empowers Asians and new immigrants to build healthy families, achieve greater economic success, and contribute to thriving communities by providing a broad range of innovative and family-centered programs and services to more than 8,000 children, youth, and adults every year. This year, we're competing as part of the Ohana New England family.
