This year, I have joined BCNC Bamboo Circle in competing in the 2019 Boston Dragon Boat Festival to support Asian and immigrant youth! We're raising money to provide youths ages 13-18 with year-round youth development, college access, and leadership programs to develop the 21st century skills they need to thrive in college and the workforce. BCNC serves 170 Asian and immigrant youth each year from locations in Boston and Quincy.
As an Asian-American with immigrant parents, I understand the struggle that many of these youth face, but I have been blessed with so many opportunities, it is only right that I give back to the community. Although I am not a Boston native, I have come to love this place that I now call home.
Every dollar will be very appreciated and wisely spent to support our youth!
The BCNC Bamboo Circle is the young professionals group of Boston Chinatown Neighborhood Center (BCNC). BCNC empowers Asians and new immigrants to build healthy families, achieve greater economic success, and contribute to thriving communities by providing a broad range of innovative and family-centered programs and services to more than 8,000 children, youth, and adults every year. This year, we're competing as part of the Ohana New England family.
