My name is Paul Stoiber. I'm 19 years old. I have Cerebral Palsy which mostly affects my legs. I use a wheelchair to get around. I am currently a freshman at Metropolitan State University (MSU) in Denver (GO RoadRunners !). I am studying Jazz Trumpet Music Performance.
I reach out once a year to friends, family and acquaintances to solicit donations for a cause that is dear to me. I will be participating in the 2019 Colfax Marathon on May 18, 2019. I will be riding the 5K course in my wheelchair. I have been participating in a charity race event for the past 10 years and this will be my sixth time in this specific Colfax Marathon event. I have finished the course in all of my previous events. It was very hard. But I did finish the course. I have been training hard for this year's ride and I think that I am ready. Every year I have been one of the top teenage fundraisers.
My main goals are to finish the event and to raise money and awareness for an amazing charity that helps kids with disabilities compete in team sports! My goal for this year is to repeat as one of the top teenage fundraiser. All of the money that I raise from this event goes to the Colorado Sled Hockey Association.
My Colorado Avalanche Sled Hockey team recently competed in the USA Hockey National Disabled Festival in Tampa where we were crowned National Champions ! This is the second time that my team has achieved this amazing goal. In March of 2017 we were champions of the first annual Hendrickson Foundation Sled Hockey Tournament in Minneapolis. And we were the 2016 USA Hockey Youth Sled National Champions.
Besides playing sled hockey I like to swim, ski, snowboard, skateboard and perform and study trumpet.
Please consider donating what you can to this great cause.
