YOU can help sick kids get their magic back!
Hold up… does running 26.2 miles really help kids in the hospital?
You bet your sweet shoelaces! The funds raised by the 2019 Bank of America Chicago Marathon Charity Team will help us recruit and train more Volunteer Hospital Magicians and purchase the supplies our volunteers need, including the ones given to each young patient as they learn to perform a trick of their very own. Your contirbutions will bring magic and smiles to thousands of children and their families, right when and where they need it the most.
I've personally been volunteering with Open Heart Magic for the last year or so, learning magic from amazing instructors and then performing for sick kids stuck in UH Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital. Going from room to room sharing the hope of magic to people who need it the most has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life.
I'd like to think I make a difference every time I go to the hospital, but I know that I couldn't do it alone. I signed up to run the Chicago Marathon (my first marathon) to raise awareness about this amazing organization. If you're able to help support the OHM community, so that we can continue to share tricks, smiles, and laughter with kids in need, it would be greatly appreciated. Feel free to contact me with any questions about the program, especially if you can't contribute monetarily but would like to get involved in other ways.
