One of the greatest impacts on my life, personally and professionally was Calumet Camp and Conference Center in NH.
Over 30 years ago, I went there as a child, and over 20 years ago worked there as a young adult. It was there I learned leadership, compassion, found confidence and found my vocation. I simply woudn't be who I am today, if it hadn't been for Calumet.
The amazing thing is Calumet is still giving those things to young people. And they are committed to ensuring that every child has a chance to participate regardless of whether they can afford it.
Generation after generation Calumet is sending leaders who make a difference out to the world. And we all know the world changes one person at a time.
SO...now at almost 44... I'm a middle aged man, who spends too much time sitting on planes and eating in restaurants... But I'm challenging myself to take part in the crazy race you see below... 2 days, 200 miles, with a team of 12 to make sure the life changing opportunity of Calumet continues to exist for kids who need it.
I've set a goal of raising $1,000, and because I believe in this so much, I'll MATCH every gift made...assuming I survive :)
Please consider a gift today, and thanks for your support.
HERE's some other details:
Calumet is taking part in it's 10th Reach The Beach: a two-day, 200 mile race across New Hampshire. This year, we have 72 runners, 12 drivers, and a bunch of support participating in the run that starts at Bretton Woods and ends at Hampton Beach. Donations to support Reach The Beach go directly to help Calumet.
In 2018 Calumet provided campership awards in the amount of $110 to EVERY SINGLE camper, and additional support for those kids who needed special help covering the fees. This Reach the Beach fundraiser allows Calumet’s fee to be as low as possible thereby keeping in within reach for every family. Any amount you can give truly makes a huge difference. Thanks so much for your support!
