As a pastor of a congregation that had so many of our awesome kiddos attend Camp Calumet Lutheran's resident camp program this summer, I know the incredible power camp has to change the lives of our young people, to help them all know the love of God in this crazy world we live in, and to go back home and change the life of their congregations as well. We even had an awesome week together at Calumet's confirmation camp for the first time (check out those pics!)
That's why for the fifth time this year I'm participating in Reach The Beach: a two-day, 200 mile race across New Hampshire. This year, we have 72 runners, 12 drivers, and a bunch of support participating in the run that starts at Bretton Woods and ends at Hampton Beach! Donations to support Reach The Beach go directly to help kids attend Calumet.
In 2018 Calumet provided campership awards in the amount of $110 to EVERY SINGLE camper, and additional support for those kids who needed special help covering the fees. Many families in my own congregation took advantage of this important program, just like I did when I was a kid. Reach the Beach further allows Calumet’s fee to be as low as possible, thereby allowing all young people to have a life changing experience of Christian community.
Last year, with your help, I had thirty five donors contribute $1,645 towards Calumet through Reach the Beach. This year, I'm hoping to increase my level of support, with a goal of fifty donors giving any amount.
Please join me in supporting this life giving ministry!!!
