Thank you for coming to my page! I‘m beyond excited to be running the 2019 Boston Marathon as a member of the Ed Walsh Foundation Marathon Team! Money raised from this event is used to help Boston area children in school and sports.
Named for Lieutenant Ed Walsh of the Boston Fire Department, the Ed Walsh Foundation was established to keep Ed’s spirit alive by giving back to the community where he lived and worked.
Ed’s life was devoted to serving others and the goal of the Foundation is to carry-on Ed’s dedication to helping people in need. The Foundation’s mission is to help Boston area children and families. In addition to lending a hand to local families coping with tragedy, death, or illness, the Foundation also supports youth sports, after-school programs and organizations like the YMCA, Boys & Girls Club and Franciscan Children’s.
The Ed Walsh Foundation also distributes grant money through its Smile-On Grant program. The Smile-On Grant was created to celebrate children and to support the teachers, parents, coaches and therapists who work with them.
The Ed Walsh Foundation is keeping Ed's spirit alive by spreading smiles to children in school and sports.
All of your support will get me through every step of 26.2 and to that finish line on Boylston Street. I wouldn’t be able to do it without you all. Thank you so much!
XOXO Shannon
