Family and friends as some of you may or may not know last September 5th I suffered a stroke. I was very blessed because of two things one my brother Lionel got me to the hospital, quick and in a hurry. And the staff at the hospital was awesome and did a great job helping me to point where the Doctor gave me a clean bill of health. The reason I am writing this is that I have been excepted to Tedy's team which runs three races a year to include the Boston marathon. I will be running for myself as well as the memory of my mentor, boss, friend, brother in arms and blue , he was a great husband to his wife Shelby Fontaine Cormier and a great father to his twins Brooklynn and Logan and last but not last an awesome brother to Jamie, Doug , and Jennifer! He also was a veteran of the armed service as well as a 18 year Police Officer for the North Hampton NH Police Department. Iam of course talking about my friend Pete J Cormier who left us on 3 Oct 2015. In the next couple of days I will be posting site information if you could either donate and or post the site information on your Fb page I greatly appreciate that. Thank you. your friend Bernie
The mission of Tedy's Team is to raise awareness for stroke and heart disease while supporting survivors on their journey, giving them a means for a comeback!
Tedy's Team was originally founded in 2005, when Tedy Bruschi, former linebacker for the New England Patriots suffered a stroke shortly after winning his 3rd Super Bowl and just days after returning from his first Pro Bowl.
Tedy's Team participates in the Boston Marathon, Falmouth Road Race, and this year's travel event is Duke City Race Weekend in New Mexico!
We are honored to be part of the Offical Charity Program of the Boston Marathon and the Numbers for NonProfits Program at the New Balance Falmouth Road Race for 15 years. The Boston Athletic Association and the NBFRR hav allowed us to utilize their platforms to elevate the awarenss of the warning signs of stroke, which are best remembered by using the acronym BE FAST, which stands for:
Balance Difficulties
Eyesight Changes
Face Drooping
Arm Weakness
Speech Difficulties - and if you notice any of those warning signs, it's...
