It's Tour de Crème time once again! The Tour's goal is to raise $16,000 in total. While corporate sponsorships and registration fees enable them to reach approximately half of that goal, they are hoping that Tour de Crème participants will help raise the other half of the goal — $8,000 — from their family and friends. All net proceeds from the 2018 Tour de Crème will be split 50/50 between the Mattapoisett Land Trust and the Friends of the Mattapoisett Bike Path. This year the Mattapoisett Land Trust will use their portion of the Tour de Crème proceeds to help maintain and expand hiking trails on their properties and the Friends of the Mattapoisett Bike Path will use their portion to help build a section of bike path to connect Mattapoisett to the Marion bike path. If you would rather donate by check, make out a check to the Mattapoisett Land Trust, P.O. Box 31, Mattapoisett, MA 02739. Please write “Tour de Crème” in the memo line of the check so we can be sure the proceeds go to the right projects.
Last year, we formed Team Landshark with the goal to raise a modest $150. It was truly a family affair - Trip, Hal and I rode the 19-mile tour while Bill and Libby co-managed the Team Landshark SAG Wagon. We shattered our goal by over $375 and as a result, were among one of the top fundraising teams. Not only did we earn the coveted yellow Tour de Crème jersey, but we had a great time supporting a cause we feel very strongly about. This year Bill and Libby have joined the team as riders and have enlisted Uncle Mark as our fourth team member. We've upped our fundraising goal to $200 - we know we can meet this goal. Will you help us exceed it once again? Please consider donating - or pitch in by cheering us on and joining us at the waterfront celebration at Munro Preserve after the Tour on May 20. Last year was a blast and we hope to see you there this year!
