Dear Family, Friends, and Alumnae,
I hope this letter finds you well. You may know that I am part of a community of 47 women at The King’s College in New York City called the House of Margaret Thatcher. We are centered in our devotion to Christ, building our community through serving our city and our college. I have found my closest friends in the House and had opportunities to serve others because of opportunities arranged by the House -- such as when my Thatcher sisters and I were able to provide business casual clothing to low-income women through Dress for Success my freshmen year.
Per tradition, the House is preparing to host our annual End of the Year Dinner, to celebrate the contributions of every member, from graduating seniors, to Dean’s List students and Bible Study and student organization leaders, in a spirit of harmony. We join in a final meal of the semester as a faith-deepening sisterhood, honoring the community built by so many women before us and throughout the year, and recognizing our seniors with the gift of their Thatcher rings. Last spring, we laughed and cried together as we honored our sisters and inaugurated our new House leaders -- so I can’t wait to see what the end-of-year party holds this year!
Our House would like to raise $1,000 to address the financial cost of our End of the Year Dinner which includes gifts and dinner for our members. Additionally, we would like to raise $500 to go toward funding other expenses like alumnae panels, and our new student expenses over the summer.
I am reaching out to you for your support, either via donation or through your thoughts and prayers. A donation of $15, $25, $50 or more would help us cover the costs of our end-of-year traditions, as well as the other events we hope to host for our community this spring. Thank you so much for your continuing support and encouragement to me and to the House of Margaret Thatcher.
Best,
Anna Wood
