Caroline's Hope to Find a Cure for Spinal Cord Injury & provides assistance to families and individuals who have suffered financial hardship as a result of spinal cord injury.
When Caroline was just 10 months old she suffered a C1 spinal cord injury in a car accident on a snowy day in February, leaving her paralyzed from the neck down and needing a ventilator to breath. Although, Caroline's body suffered severe injuries her spirit is as strong as ever. Even after spending the last 16 years in and out of the hospital for numerous surgeries and illnesses along with requiring up to 10 different respiratory treatments daily, Caroline has a smile that will brighten anyone’s day. Caroline is now in 10th grade and still requires 24 hour nursing at home to help her care and make it possible to go to school. Because she was so young and the severity of her injuries Caroline is unable to speak but uses a communication device that tracks her eyes and allows her to participate in class and even chat with friends at lunch.
As you can imagine, this level of care is costly and health insurance barely covers the basics. Finding the resources that allow her to just get out of the house and participate in daily activities that we all take for granted is quite a challenge. We need your help, please consider joining Team Caroline and spreading the word to your friends and family.
By "Joining the Team" and pledging to raise $75.00 you will get your own personal Team Caroline page to send out and let everyone know what you’re doing. Out of that pledge, $55 covers your registration fee and the rest goes to Caroline's Hope. For example, if you're able to raise $500, $55 covers your registration fee and $445 goes to Caroline's Hope.
Along with your free entry and supporting a good cause you’ll receive a beautiful RNWL finisher medal and shirt as well as your own Team Caroline Shirt & Medal.
