Katie's Krew is once again hitting the waters at the Philly Dragon Boat Festival to raise some awareness and money and do some good, however tiny and hard-won. In the world right now, we're all looking for places that a few dollars will affect change in the lives of our community, and I ASSURE you, this will.
If you haven't seen it yet, please go listen to the kids themselves: https://vimeo.com/192477240#t=60s
As many of you know, Katie's Krew is a charity-based dragon boat team that was started by nurses and former patients of the childrens' oncology at St. Chris's Hospital in Philly. Our team fundraises for Camp Can Do, an organization with a great mission: a Philadelphia-area summer camp for children battling cancer. This camp provides a fun, safe, inclusive and amazing childhood experience where kids with some extra burdens get to just-be-kids around other kids that understand, in an environment that both energizes them and accommodates their challenges.
** No child's family pays for Camp Can Do. This is why fundraising is important. **

The Festival is Saturday October 6th, 2018. We're hoping to raise enough to pay for our entry fee and contribute to sending 3 children (hopefully more!) to Camp Can Do summer of 2019, and raise funds to help support this amazing camp and charity organization. Our fearless and peerless co-captain Tom keeps this camp afloat with his tireless 24/7 efforts, and still manages to keep us going and bring the team together.
Thanks for reading, and our endless gratitude for your continued support!
