Sign up for the Chicago Marathon, they said. It'll be fun, they said. And they knew I was on this post-race high from my most recent adventure, so obviously I was going to say yes.
THEN they mentioned the bridges. They know I hate bridges. Bridges terrify me. They KNOW this.
So, here I am...committed to doing this thing that will undoubtedly bring me to tears at least three times.
But at least I'm raising money for a phenomenal organization in the process.
I've been coaching for Girls on the Run for the last two years and I am continually awed by the changes I can see in our girls. They are building their self-confidence, learning how to be supportive of other girls, finding strength they were convinced they didn't have, and overcoming self-doubt. Investing in our girls today is one of the greatest things we can do to positively impact not only their futures, but ours. This organization is vital to our girls and our communities.
So click on that donate button and help a girl out. I need something to focus on to get me across those bridges.
