Dear American Cancer Society Friend,
It is hard to believe that 2018 is almost over and we will be bringing in a new year! The American Cancer Society has worked hard in 2018 to make sure we are saving lives, celebrating lives, and leading the fight for a world without cancer by activating our army of activists, developing research breakthroughs, building communities, and providing direction to those who need it.
The American Cancer Society appreciates the kindness you have showed us in the past. Your gift has helped us provide free transportation to patients to and from their life saving treatment, provide a home away from home when patients needed to travel for treatment, boost self-esteem with free wigs and other items, and support every person in their time of need.
Here is what we have accomplished in 2018: --
Provided over 500 free nights of lodging to patients in Central Texas traveling away from their home for their life saving treatment.
Provided more than 400 wigs and gift items along with personal wig fitting experiences to patients in Central Texas.
Provided more than 2,000 rides to patients to and from their life saving treatments and appointments.
Answered over 85,000 calls from Texas residents to our National Cancer Information Center from patients, caregivers, and information seekers needing questions answers, matches to clinical trials, and information.
Funded over $40 million dollars in Research being performed in Texas.
All our programs and services remain 100% free to cancer patients. All these programs- as well as our prevention and early detection program, provider and community education modules, community initiatives, and research- would not be possible without people like you and your generous gifts. We hope that you will consider giving the Gift of Hope and make a tax deductible donation to help support patients and their families in Central Texas through their cancer journey this holiday season.
Thank you so much for your support! We wish you a wonderful holiday season.
