Golf Fights Cancer's first ever DC-area Golf Marathon will be held at Bretton Woods Golf Course in Germantown, MD on Friday April 20, 2018. What is a golf marathon? An unbelievable day of camaraderie, golf, and great memories where golfers of all skill levels are sponsored to play 100 holes of golf in one day, raising $50,000 collectively to positively impact the life of cancer patients.
Proceeds will be directed to The Children's Inn at NIH.
At The Children’s Inn, the power of childhood meets the power of research. The Inn provides relief, support and strength to families journeying into the unknown, whose children are medical pioneers battling rare cancers and other life-threatening illnesses. Their participation in clinical trials at 15 of the 27 NIH institutes and centers can change the story for children around the world. Since opening in 1990, The Inn has been a free “Place Like Home” for more than 13,000 children and their families from all 50 states and 94 countries. We make childhood possible for children who don’t have many chances to just play, laugh and be kids. The Inn reduces the burden of illness by providing more than 1,300 therapeutic, educational and recreational programs each year. Last year, children being treated at the National Cancer Institute stayed 3,329 nights at The Inn. As a partner in hope to families—and a partner in discovery with the NIH—The Children’s Inn is a part of the cure. For more information, visit: www.childrensinn.org.
