2018 CDLS Fundraiser in Memory of Layla
Thank you once again for visiting our fundraising page.
It has been over 4 years now since the birth and passing of our daughter, Layla, who was born with a rare genetic condition: Cornelia de Lange Syndrome. At times it feels like an eternity, but other times it feels like it was yesterday. We have had a lot of positives over the past 4 years, including the addition of our 1 year old son Ashton (who also shares the same birthday as Layla, if you can believe it). He has been a blessing and is easily Keira's favorite out of the entire family. It's evident every morning when she wakes up and rushes in to see her brother:)
During these four years we have made it a commitment to continue our support of the Cornelia de Lange Syndrome Foundation in Layla's memory. This has only been possible through the generosity of YOU. It is humbling and uplifting the generosity we have experienced: from family members and friends, to friends of friends, and even people we have never even met. Our goal for years to come is to continue to support the Foundation so that they may continue to provide support, services, programs and information for families affected by this syndrome.
We will again represent Team CdLS at the Blue Mountain Spartan Race on Sunday July 15th, in honor of Layla. The Blue Mountain course consists of ELEVATION, mountains, obstacles, water, barbed wire, and ultimately a challenge like none we have ever experienced. This years team includes Shawn Carr, Kimberly Carr, Kristy Carr, Dylan Carr, Pat Carr, Marie Carr, Mike Carr, Chris Naab, and Leonard Altieri. We have previously represented Team CdLS in last year's Spartan Race, the 2016 Sea Isle Ten Mile beach run as well as two other mud runs in 2014 and 2015. We are fired up for this years event and training like we've never trained before.
We would like to thank you for helping to keep Layla in our hearts and providing assistance to other families affected by this syndrome, through the CdLS foundation. You can learn more about CdLS here: www.cdlsusa.org
