Essential. We have been hearing this word a lot lately – essential workers, essential needs, essential services. Something essential is absolutely necessary or extremely important.
By that definition, Boys & Girls Clubs are essential – To Aaron who can’t wait to reconnect with his favorite staff and Club friends, to Isabelle who relies on the Club for extra emotional and nutritional support, to Jackson who needs the extra educational resources Power Hour provides, to Lilly whose parents both work long hours and the Club has become her second home. We are essential to them and YOU are essential to us!
Simply put, we cannot do it without you. In September we will be celebrating 20 years since we opened the Youth Center doors to GREAT FUTURES. We are asking you to help us raise $20,000 for 20 years of providing Academic Success, Character & Leadership and Healthy Lifestyles.
The Boys & Girls Club of Southwestern Oregon has always played an important role in our community, adapting and evolving to support kids and families through the most challenging of circumstances. Now we must harness the power of our reputation, strength of our relationships in the community, and tremendous experience serving at-risk youth to navigate this new way life.
The pandemic may have changed the way in which we do things, but delivery of our Mission remains – to enable all youth to achieve their fullest potential by enhancing their self-esteem, providing positive role models, and by heling them develop the qualities needed to become caring, productive, responsible citizens.
You are essential to that Mission and to Club kids today and every day.
