20 years ago Raymond Scott “crashed” into dialysis when his kidneys failed at the age of 29 from high blood pressure. The knowledge gained through their own experiences led Raymond and his wife Analyn to create 1in9 Charities, Inc - a patient advocacy non-profit 501(c)(3) public charity that exists to create hope and change the trajectory of Kidney Disease.
26 Million Americans - 1in9 adults - have chronic kidney disease (CKD) and 90% don’t even know it. It is responsible for more deaths each year than breast cancer or prostate cancer. Diabetes and high blood pressure are the leading causes, and nearly half of individuals with CKD also have diabetes and/or cardiovascular disease.
The Scott's vision, and that of 1in9, is to save millions of lives worldwide through awareness, prevention, and expedited research and development of regenerative medicine treatments and solutions.
The Scott family and 1in9 are grateful for the opportunity to partner with City Lites to share their knowledge and empower the community to take charge and improve their health at the "Heart & Mind" Inner City Mini-Marathon & Health Festival. Your financial support will help 1in9 reach and impact more communities through their programs, tours, digital media and upcoming 1in9 Documentary.
